How to put image data into array when doing point cloud?

I'm trying to do point cloud using opengl with a color image(bmp.) and a depth image(bmp.). I finished making two three dimensional dynamic array but have no idea how to put these two image into those two arrays. How do I acquire the image data? and how do I put them into the arrays? so that I'll be able to draw points according to those arrays.
