How to create a custom Visual Studio C++ (2008) debug visualizer

I mostly work with MSVC 2008 in C/C++. I have an array of float values. I want to create a graphic plotter which can take the array, process it to create a new array and then display that new processed array.

I never created any applications/extensions for visual studio before, is it possible to create such a debug visualizer if so please guide me through the process of doing so as well.
