How to get absolute path of file for sftp file upload?

I am trying to upload file using sftp: using the following link.

Reliable example of how to use SFTP using public private key authentication with Java

But i am unable to get the absolute path of file as the browser restricts getting the absolute path for security reasons.

What is the alternate way to achieve this? (Get absolute path or implement SFTP file upload without the need to absolute path)
