Why procedural programming is better than OOP in scientific computing?

I'm trying to write a small paper about scientific software and the differences from regular everyday software and one of the points and compartments that i need to show is that point. I searched for an answer for quite some time but unfortunately i couldn't find an answer, apparently some articles that i have found says the opposite. but i need to show that point in my paper.

I know it's a very vague area and not an accurate science, but if you could help me with that one i'll be more then happy.
