Matrix plot without BarChart3D - Mathematica

I need to plot 3D Bar Chart for given matrix, but i can't use BarChart3D, so need to make my own BarChart3D equivalent function. I will also need to adjust bar height and colour (using Hue function). Something like this: Plot of bars with height data in Mathematica just without using BarChart3D and with specific bar colours.
