Is there an open-source stackoverflow-like comment box widget I can add to my website?

I would like to add comments to my website and I don't want to create the JS from scratch, if there are open-source alternatives. I'm not interested in a whole comment system like Disqus, I just want the comment box widget with a few formatting options (bold, italics, code insertion, etc) and the means to render the formatted comment on my site.

The ideal comments boxes I have in mind are those of Stackexchange and Quora, of course, it doesn't have to be as elaborate as theirs.

Any ideas of open-source alternatives that could solve my problem?

P.D. I'm using Python (Flask) in my backend.
