Android,hot to draw text with rotation on Canvas

I need to draw text that has a rotation to a canvas. Looking at the various drawText methods of the canvas class I saw that none of them has a rotation parameter. The Canvas class does have a drawTextOnPath method, which I could use to draw text on a path that is slanted to achieve the desired effect but I am not sure if this is the most effective way to solve this problem. I am grateful for any suggestions or tips.
