Php Script/ Software Question About Placing Database On One Host and Php Files On Another...

For this question what im trying to find out is if and how I can run php files on one host say (hostgator) and run the db on a separate host say (godaddy) ...I have cpanel Linux plans for both and want to do this as a privacy security thing so one host doesn't have all the cards so to speak and can just re-gimmick my site...I cannot currently run my own servers so please don't ask on that... is this possible please help..this question pertains to any and all cms php scripts... such as wordpress, phpfox...etc
