ubuntu 14.04.1 desktop alt-tab (app switcher) randomly popping up

I'm using ubuntu 14.04.1 desktop running on HP z620 workstation.

alt-tab (app switcher) randomly pops up in every minute. It randomly pops up even when I disconnected keyboard and mouse from the desktop. Thus, it seems software issue.

One of the solution suggested in the post was to install gnome-shell instead of unity.

I tried it, but still alt-tab randomly pops up.
