MongoDB not working in ubuntu 16.04

I am aware of the fact that the systemd folder must have the unit service file and i have created it with the reference from the website called digital ocean. vk@vk-Satellite-C650:/$ sudo mongo MongoDB shell version: 3.2.12 connecting to: test 2017-02-14T21:31:39.402+0530 W NETWORK [thread1] Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1:27017, in(checking socket for error after poll), reason: errno:111 Connection refused 2017-02-14T21:31:39.402+0530 E QUERY [thread1] Error: couldn't connect to server 127.0.0.1:27017, connection attempt failed : connect@src/mongo/shell/mongo.js:229:14 @(connect):1:6 but when I use the command sudo mongod mongoDB runs and starts listening on the port 27071 what am I doing wrong ?
