Playback for Html 5 canvas implementation ideas

Hi guys I am looking for some ideas about how to write a playback or record feature for a html 5 canvas.

You can check out the drawing tool I currently use at http://peinto.org/.

So I am looking to implement this as an extension but am open to libraries if anyone has any suggestions. The goal is to have something similar to this http://sketchtoy.com/.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome.
