When debugging a java class. why would I get error message saying "No servlet mapping in web.xml"

I have a servlet which contains an object of a normal java class in it. I have added relevant mappings to the web.xml at the creation of the servlet. My java class is Counter.java and when I want to debug the java class, it gives me the message "There are no servlet mappings in web.xml for Counter servlet".

I can't figure out what has gone wrong. Any help would be highly appreciated.
