I developed an android project on my laptop. This android project is in encrypted mode on my laptop hard disk. I took backup of this project onto my external hard disk (This got copied in encrypted mode itself). My laptop runs on windows 7 OS.
Now my laptop hard disk crashed. Before replacing this crashed hard disk, I've tried taking backup of data into my external hard disk using another laptop. But the encrypted android project folder did not get copied no matter what I did. It said 'encrypted files cannot be copied' for the android project. The directory structure got copied but files did not.
Now my original hard disk will be replaced in a couple of days. Thankfully I have the latest version of my android project on my external hard disk.
Now when I try copying my project from external hard disk to another laptop and it says 'cannot copy encrypted files'.
Now my queries are - 1. on my new hard disk will i be able to open my android project (after copying it from my external hard disk)? 2. how do i de-crypt the project files so that I can work with them on another laptop? 3. Is the encryption done at the hard disk level - meaning if i change the hard disk, will i loose my project?
I spent 30 man days (excluding my day job working hours) on this android project and it is very important for me. Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Sarat.
