hadoop slaves not shown in resource manager web page

I added 3 new nodes into master's etc/hadoop/slaves, started datanode and nodemanager of each node. Then I tried below 2 ways to let hadoop master node know the 3 nodes.

1. http://ift.tt/1giLp7C Sadly the solution from this link does not work.

2.restart resource manager of master node, which does not work too.

Could any one help on this problem?
