Unix File listing

I Have copied one file from one server to another. I check the output of "copy" command it returned "0" means, copying successful.

when I am doing "ls -lrt" in the directory where I copied the file it doesn't list the file.

But when I do "ls -lrt filename" it's listing the file. I have to use the copied file as a input to one of the script. But as it is not able to find the file in directory because of above problem.

Can Anyone tell me what is the problem.
