Javascript : Loading screen cover the site for every item check

Sorry im new to javascript, just wanted to know can i make a javascript function for checkbox, when user checked on the checkbox it will show the loading screen for 1 or 2 second, while the screen is loading it will disable the other checkbox. Any helps would be appreciated.

My fiddle demo : ( i have no idea how to apply the javscript function, only javascript not jquery or ajax)
