Youtube api v3 examples for vb.net

Could someone give some code or make a tutorial on getting the youtube api v3 to work with vb.net. I have experimented with the examples on the youtube developers page in c#, and javascript, and they simply don't work. They all show errors when run as is. I've attempted to convert the c# examples to vb, but they don't work. I have my api key and have done all of the sign up stuff that is necessary.

Specifically, I'd like to complete a keyword search, and then play the selected video in a video player on the same page. And before you go marking this as "not a real question", show me where there is an abundance of examples explaining how to use the api v3 for vb. Thanks.
