modify .xap file while building setup

I have two setups created using wix, that deploy a silverlight web application. As for the silverlight application, I've excluded a few dlls from being included in the .xap file.

For one of the setups I want the standard .xap (the one output upon building the .sln) to be packaged and for the other, I want to include some dlls in the .xap file and then package it.

Is there a way I can achieve this? should I write a pre-build event for the setup which will extract the .xap, copy the dlls and again compress it into .xap file, and then include this into setup?. but does this seems like a good option?
