MD5 based encryptor/ file locker

i have to build a software for my final year project. i zeroed on a file locker in java using the md5 encryption technique to encrypt the data within files. but i have no idea how to go about it!!! my software has the following features : 1) facility to add new files for encryption 2) the destination of the encrypted file will be the same as when it was not encrypted, meaning that the source and destination will be same. if we click on the file to open it will automatically ask for a password. 3) the software will ask for a password during encrypting a new file and any time onwards the encrypted is selected to open. 4) it will also ask for an e-mail from user during encryption, so that if the user forgets the password, he can recover it through the e-mail. 5) the filenames with extentions, the passwords and the e-mails will be maintained in a table in the DB. i am using the oracle 10g. 6) it also allows to permanently remove encryption from the files.

i am using JAVA, JAVA SWING and ORACLE 10g Database. now please help me how to go about it???
