Which files and settings are getting Affected , when ugrading vsftpd [ CentOS 6.5 ]

my server is Cent-OS 6.5 , in Cent-OS 6.5 the default vsftpd version is 2.2 , but versions lower than 2.3.4 has a DOS vulnerability in the vsf_filename_passes_filter function in ls.c. So i am going to upgrade vsftpd version , now the problem i have is , If i upgrade the vsftpd version , which files are getting affected and which settings are getting affected .

I checked some tutorials for upgrading vsftpd version , but i could only get tutorials which are installing vsftpd .

But i think if i do this kind of a thing , my existing users and passwords will get lost . so please show me how to upgrade the vsftpd version and , please specify the affecting areas by this upgrade .
