Tappable phone number/email on Android with OnsenUI?

I use Onsen UI and I want some phone numbers/emails to be tappable like usuals phone numbers/emails in the browser or other applications (starting the dialler or email app...)

I tried using <a href="tel:xxxx">xxxx</a> and <a href="mailto:xxxxx">xxxxx</a> but this doesn't work, at least with Android.

I figure that text-related operations are not built in Onsen UI (for instance you can't select text in an Onsen UI app), but is there any way around this ?
