Creating Jar A .Jar FIle In Ubuntu

I have made a piece of java code using the gedit. I have the compiled the code and also executed it in the terminal itself. I wish to create an executable file (i want .jar form of the program) using the terminal or some other way in linux(Ubuntu 16.04 LTS).Kindly help me to achieve this. Thank You
