Cannot make a static reference to the non-static method?

I keep getting an error: "Cannot make a static reference to the non-static method encode(String) from the type Encrypt"

It happens at this line: encWord = encode(plaintext);

Can anyone tell me what's going on? I've looked at similar questions, and keep trying different things, but have had no luck. Hopefully my code isn't too much of a mess by now.
