SCons Error: Could not import EnumVariable

I have installed scons on a CentOS 7 box and was trying to run a compilation, when i keep getting this error : " Error: Could not import EnumVariable"

Any help would be appreciated. Here is my versions.

scons version: 2.3.4, python version: 2.7.5
