Play video using vlcj in ubuntu

I am working on a program to play video in Java using vlcj. I created program both in windows and ubuntu succesfully. The problem is I can play video without vlc installed in windows but not in ubuntu .I have shipped the necessary library files required for both windows and ubuntu. Can you guys tell me what all additional library files are necessary if required since I am familiar with windows only. I included all the necessary files including plugins in /home/usr/lib/vlc directory, is there any other path vlc library files might be installed so I can include them also. Thanks in advance
