sqlite3_column_blob to image or Mat (OpenCV) in C++

I need to work on an application that retrieve the image (blob data) from a sqlite database to image or Mat of OpenCV (best for me) in C++. Since I am not having much experience in C++, I have no idea how to do this. Is anyone having a good suggestion?

By the way, I am working on a iPhone app that do feature matching. Actually I finished this part by it is very slow as I need to match with around a hundred of picture. Therefore, I am planning to put the recognition process onto web service so that the first question is raised. Does anyone have any better advices for me? Thanks a lot.
