What is good java compiler?

I started learning how to code. After reading book for a while, I feel I may need some practices.

I heard of net bean and eclipse luna. Downloaded them. Both look too complicated. I just wanna focus my energy on learning the basics of Java for now, and spending hours upon hours learning how to use a compiler.
